Personalized Curriculum: Fitness Class- PE Support Class • Class size approximately 20 students who struggle in PE • PE Teachers select students based on Fitnessgram tests at the beginning of the year (primarily BMI and Mile) • Fitness class uses the fitness center 3 days week • Regular classes use the fitness center every 3 weeks • Curriculum includes a lot of extra nutritional topics

Statistics • Entire program • 59.1% HFZ Aerobic Capacity (2006-2007) • 84.8% HFZ Aerobic Capacity (2009-2010) • Fitness Class: 31.9% of students went from an unhealthy mile to a healthy mile over the last two years. • 1st year (2008-2009) – 49.1% of students wanted to stay in class • 3rd year (2010-2011) – 78 % of students wanted to stay in class

  16. Community Connections: • Nutritional Advisory Council – Students from PE classes attend District Nutritional Committee to give input on wellness plan and receive guidance on Nutritional choices
