About • An RN can give medication, give shots, write notes, talk to patients, prepare for procedures, monitor patients and many more. • An RN can work in hospitals, doctor offices, nursing homes, and at a school. • The minimum amount of school you need is a two year associates degree. The more education you have the better your salary will be.

  3. Salary • In Texas some RN’s earn less than $44,970 per year, or $21.62 per hour, and others more than $96,630 per year, or $46.46 per hour. It all depends on your education and how much of it you achieve.
