Said a few other ways…. • We need men who can dream things that never were – JFK • Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration – Thomas Edison • You got to stand for something, or you’ll fall for anything – Aaron Tippin • Every object in a state of motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it – Newton’s 1st law of motion

  4. The necessity of direction • Stagnation, complacency, and broken New Years resolutions are a part of the human condition • Why does the Pastor bring this up once a year? • Who is the One who ordains direction? (Psalm 139:16) • Aimlessly wandering…

  5. So how do I realize it? • God has used the same format on multiple occasions in multiple lives • Look at one in particular: Habakkuk 2

  6. Stand my watch • You have been appointed to something – your “watch” • Often related to your wiring, your office, or your gift (Rom 12, Eph 4, 1 Cor 12) • Necessary components – ability, knowledge, skill, environment, motivation, instruction • Standing requires patience

  7. Set myself on the rampart • Setting yourself requires determination to be the new creature (2 Cor 5:17) • You must be determined to break the old habits of stagnation, resolution, and complacency • A rampart is the place where opportunities should be visible

  8. Watch to see what He will say • The most difficult part of the process • Watching requires patience • Watching requires attentiveness • Watching requires focus • Are you a good watcher? • Do you insure time to watch?

  9. And what I will say when I am corrected (how He will answer my complaint) • When God does tell you, are you willing to hear it? • Are you able to step toward it, or are you afraid He won’t complete (Phil 1:6) • Are you willing to invest in it?

  10. And the Lord answered

  11. Write it down • Why do you write out a shopping list? • The (sin) of addition….Twinkees, cupcakes, Doritos, soda, Oreos, Ice Cream • Because important things can be overlooked • It helps you maintain focus • It decreases the time it takes to get to the goal

  12. Make it clear • Capture the thought, the vision, the revelation, and communicate it to others • KISS principle applies • Maintain the integrity of the message • Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler – Albert Einstein

  13. So that he may run who reads it • NIV interpretation – not comfortable with the translation • Are you excited about it? Then deliver it in a way that makes others involved excited about it • Folks only invest in what they believe in • Don’t forget, running is impossible if you’re carrying luggage

  14. It is for an appointed time • Yes… the patience message again • Yours is the preparation • Yours is the investment in the foundation • Yours is the preparation of the field • His is the appointed time • And it is for your own good!

  15. The MGM Vision • To seek and save the lost • To transform the saved • To restore the “C” Church to our community • To be the place people think of first when they need help • To launch the transformed into ministry, both internal and external

  16. But How? • The same way you find yours • We will stand our watch • Set ourselves in a place to see • Watch to see what God says • Be obedient as He answers • We will communicate the vision • We will write it down • We will be patient • We will see it fulfilled

  17. Your vision, your dream, your future is in Him • He sets righteous desires in our hearts • Don’t confuse these with unrighteous desires • He allows us to take steps forward, guiding us along the way • He will make you and your ministry more fulfilling then you could have ever imagined • Normal people can do supernatural things
