  1. We are class 5A, from Andrei Saguna National College, and we are happy to present you our school!

  2. Our school

  3. Andrei Şaguna has been born in 1809 in Miscolt, Hungary. He have fought for orthodoxies rights and, in 1851, he founded the third Romanian Gymnasium, which in 1922 received his name and then, in 1996, become national college. In 1862, Iosif Clement has painted the walls of our Festive Hall. He painted, also, our device on the front wall. “Litteris et virtuti” is our permanently device, which promotes Good, Truth and Beautiful values. History Andrei Şaguna Our motto Because of the long way through history and time, our school has a prestigious name and interesting traditions. At first, it had been a school were just boys could have learn, now both, girls and boys are allowed to come here to learn.

The Romanian Educational System • Kindergarden - starting at the age of 3 • Primary school - 4 years (starting at the age of 6 or 7) • Secondary school – 4 years • Highschool – 4 years • University – 3 (general studies)+2 (Master degree) years In our College, we have 4 secondary classes (one for each grade) and 24 highschool classes (six for each grade)

  5. We are special…! … What differentiates us from other schools are the multiple cultural events, traditions, competitions and contests in which we participate, and our own original activities …

  6. The school magazine and the Radio In the school magazine we write in Romanian, English, German and French The walls of the room where is oru radio station were painted by one of uor colleagues. You see here the painter and his work.

  7. The school anniversary On November 30th we celebrate our school anniversary, because in that day, orthodoxies use to honour Saint Andrew, which is our spiritual mentor’s name. … With this occasion we organize all kind of contests.

  11. Sport’s Day Sports’ Day On the1stof June our school organizes several sport competitions. Students and teachers can compete in dance contests, football games, volleyball matches, chess competitions etc.

  12. Fanfare & Choir Few schools can boast a varied repertoire of fanfare and choir. They approach: hymns and patriotic marches, folk songs, ballads, tango, waltz, polka, famous Romanian and international songs. Also we own the best choir from Romania, because they won several awards at national competitions.

  13. Charitable activities Every year, a few days before Christmas, the pupils of our school organize a fund raising action in order to help those who have financial difficulties. This event is called “The Christmas Bazar”. The pupils sell home-made cakes, Christmas cards, and sing carols in the school courtyard.

  14. … but even thoughwe have so many traditions, we are just some kids from 21st century who have fun with their friends, drink hot chocolate and keep in touch with the world! 
