  3. Steps 1 & 2 1. MEDITECH automatically transmits patient demographic data, exam information, and results from departmental applications to PACS 2. MEDITECH’s HCIS working with industry standard PACS, allows clinicians to view radiology images and a patients record, simultaneously

Steps 3 & 4 • Clinicians simply click on the icon to view patients’ images and read any reports associated with those exams. • Clinicians are pointed directly to the desired patients exams and reports residing on the PACs. No need to re-identify patients or exams. • Image statuses are passed from PACs into MEDITECH’s Enterprise Medical Record, so clinicians viewing patients’ records immediately know both the availability of images and the status of any exams.
