  2. Warm up • Take a few minutes now and write down any themes you thought of last night, and if you can, pull out some examples from the text.

  3. Vocabulary • siege - The surrounding and blockading of a city, town, or fortress by an army attempting to capture it. • detonate - To explode or cause to explode; blow up; set off; ignite; spark off; discharge

  4. Themes? • What themes do you see in the story so far?

  5. Good vs. Evil / Small Groups • Get together with your partner and fill out this worksheet, pulling specific examples from the text to demonstrate the theme.

  6. Homework • Please read Chapter 7 tonight. • Keep working on your character trait worksheets. • You may want to make note of some of Mulch's traits as you go along.
