  2. Ellsworth Kelly—The Artist Ellsworth Kelly (born May 31, 1923) is an American painter and sculptor associated with Hard-edge painting, Color Field painting and the Minimalist school. His works demonstrate unassuming techniques emphasizing the simplicity of form. Kelly often employs bright colors to enhance his works. Ellsworth Kelly lives and works in Spencertown, New York.

  3. More about the artist… • As a child, he liked to watch birds. He felt that helped him develop his sense of shape in natural objects. • As a child and teenager, he was often alone. • He had a stutter until he was in his 20s. • He was in the military in the 1940s during WWII. • He lived in Paris for six years before returning to America.
