  2. Rural Communities • Rural areas are called farmland. • There are fewer people and they are more spread out from one another. • There is lots of open space and natural areas.

  3. Urban Communities • There are lots of people living close together. • There is not very much open space. • There is not very much natural areas. • People often take the bus, train, taxi, or walk. • Buildings are often very tall. • Some buildings are so tall they look like they touch the sky.

  4. Suburban • People in suburbs often drive but sometimes walk. • Homes in suburban communities have only one family living in them. • Suburban areas have yards and neighborhoods.
