  3. Origin and Scope • Procurement executives determined the current FPDS system to be “broken” and not cost effective • FY 2001-2002 interagency collaboration on the redefinition of data collection needs • FY 2003- implement new system

  4. FPDS-NG Capabilities • Secure web access • Scaleable from 1,000 to 10,000 concurrent users • 508 compliant • 24 X 7 system availability • Provide 3 methods for data submission • Machine to machine (M2M) • Web • Batch* * will be eliminated as agencies adopt M2M

  5. FPDS-NG Capabilities (cont) • 99.9% up time exclusive of scheduled maintenance • help desk support • Search and query capability on all data (historical and current) plus easy report generation • Implement changes within 30 days • Open system to enable interoperability

  6. GSA Responsibilities • Manage project • manage contract • lead the Change Control Board (CCB) • measure success • lower overall cost to government • timely and accurate data • customer satisfaction • Provide project information • www.FPDS-NG.com

Agency Responsibilities • Modify internal systems based upon FPDS-NG standards and data dictionary • Participate in system tests, early adoption program and the Change Control Board (CCB) • Plan for reporting individual transactions of $25,000 or less :direct report of individual transactions into FPDS-NG :current SF281 process thru Sept 30 2004

  8. Agency Responsibility • Implement unique PIID schema and “register” PIID with FPDS-NG Program Office • Appoint Agency and Sub-agency administrators • Identify users and establish user rights

  9. Agency Responsibilities (cont) • Two options for modifying existing contract writing systems :use internal personnel/contractor :issues and fund task order under GSA award to GCE

  10. FPDS-NG Service Provider • Global Computer Enterprise, Inc -Development & Implementation - interoperability standards for agency system modifications -October 1 2003 “go live” -Operation and maintenance -help desk services -agency liaison -enhancements and upgrades
