  1. The band spent the first part of 1968 in India, studying transcendental meditation under the tutelage of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

  2. The double album, called The White Album which was released in November 1968.

  3. The band's last performance together outside the studio came in January 1969.

  4. Their last recording session (for Abbey Road) followed in August.

  5. In September 1969, Lennon told the band that he was leaving.

  6. The band's breakup was announced in April 1970, a month before Let It Be was released.

  8. John Lennon - Imagine (1971) The second full-fledged solo album of John Lennon is considered the best album of Lennon. It was a continuation of «John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band», which was released a year earlier, but «Imagine» contains more songs with political overtones. Album is designed in blue colors, symbolizing the sky. On the back cover is a picture of Lennon, looking at the sky an allusion to a line from the title song «Above us only Sky».

  9. John Lennon achieved great success as a solo artist. Tragically, he was killed by an obsessive fan, Mark David Chapman, in 1980.

  10. George Harrison recorded many solo albums over the years, and died of cancer in 2001.
