The Witterings There are two parts to the Witterings, East and West. There is a beach at both sites. It is found in the Chichester District of West Sussex. The beaches are popular in both winter and summer, but for different reasons. In summer the beach is full of tourists and people soaking up the sun. In winter it can be used for long walks or surfing/windsurfing. East Wittering has a pebbly beach but when the tide goes out, sand appears. There is also an historic windmill but unfortunately it is no longer in use. It has one of the UK’s longest running surf clubs, Shore Surf Club. West Wittering also has a beach but it is sandy. It has many sand dunes. It is not really a beach for swimming or other leisure activities. You can enjoy a long, refreshing walk along the paths. It is an excellent place to walk your dogs.
