  4. The Comedy of Errors • Shakespeare’s earliest comedy, written around 1592 • Separated twins • Mistaken identity • Has many adaptions: operas, films and at least 3 musicals • Broadway musical “Oh, Brother!” in 1981 • Hip-hop musical “Bomb-itty of Errors”

  5. The Two Gentlemen of Verona • Has the smallest cast of all of Shakespeare’s plays • Women dressing as men • Love versus friendship • Foolishness of lovers • Blank verse and prose • The only cinematic adaption is a Chinese silent film Yī jiǎn méi(“A Spray of Plum Blossoms”)
