  3. Origins of Chicken and Roasting • Chicken was first used and domesticated in the Indus Valley, in present-day Pakistan and northwest India, around 3000BC • Roasting meat was one of the first ways humans began to cook food

  4. What Is Roasted Chicken? • Add heat till cooked to safe temperature • Ways to roast meat and poultry: • Over an open fire • In an oven

  5. My Favorite Method: Wine-Butt Chicken • Fill a can halfway with flavorful liquid • Season the chicken under and over the skin • Grill for 1-1.5 hours, till thigh meat measures 160°F
