Mission ISO/TC 154 ISO/TC 154 • To undertake and facilitate development and maintenance of international standards for data exchange in the value chain. • ISO/TC 154 standards cover data exchange regardless of media used. • ISO/TC 154 fosters harmonization between and within international standards development organizations, particularly through the e-business MoU MG.

  4. ISO/TC 154 and UN/CEFACT ISO/TC 154 • 3 collaborations (2 joint WG & 1 MA) between ISO/TC 154 and UN/CEFACT • Participation of UN/CEFACT experts in WG2 (SDMX) and WG3 (CCTS) • Last plenary meeting (August 2010): many participants also participate in UN/CEFACT…

Future collaboration between ISO/TC 154 and UN/CEFACT ISO/TC 154 Make use of opportunities that ISO/TC 154 offers... • ISO = a well known brand • Adopt ISO standards on national/regional level[e.g. EN ISO standard -> mandatory adoption of EN ISO standard by all CEN members (= 30 European countries)] • Adopt UN/CEFACT standards as ISO standards by ISO/TC 154 -> so other ISO/TCs don’t develop ISO standards that duplicate work of/conflict with existing UN/CEFACT standards

  6. New developments ISO/TC 154 • ISO/TC 154 is in the process of approving Klaus-Dieter Naujok as Convenor to TC 154/Joint WG 1 Joint syntax working group (with UN/ECE) • ISO/TC 154 resolution for TC Sec to send out New Work Item proposal for revision of ISO 7372, as soon as proposal is drafted by TDED joint MA.
