  1. Cubism Maryam Hamouda 7B

  2. What is cubism? In cubist artwork, objects are broken up and reassembled in an abstract form instead. And instead of showing the objects from one viewpoint, the artist shows the subject from a verity of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater way.

  3. When did cubism start? The first branch of cubism, known as Analytic Cubism, was as a short but highly important art between 1907 and 1911 in France. The second branch of cubism is called Synthetic Cubism , this art spread and remained absolutely necessary. Until around 1919, when surrealist movement gained popularity. English art historian Douglas cooper described three phases of cubism in his seminal book, The Cubist Epoch. According to cooper there was Early Cubism (from 1906 to 1908) High Cubism (from 1909 to 1914) and finally Late Cubism (from 1914 to 1921)

  4. Cubism Artists Georges Braque is French artist and sculptor. He and Pablo Picasso were the ones who developed the art style: cubism. Houses at l’Estaque

  5. Who inspired the artist? I think that the person who inspired the artist is Pablo Picasso. Braque's art was majorly affected after he visited Pablo Picasso's studio.

  6. Do I like this style of art? No I don’t tend to like this style of art. I think that It is hard to understand, and makes a portraits look ugly. I also think that painting an object from a lot of different viewpoints looks weird.

  7. What is the difference? The difference between earlier realistic still life artwork, the artwork I made and this form of art, is that the artists goal isn’t to draw the object accurately. In still life, you look at the objects in front of you and try to draw them perfectly on paper. The you color them with the colors you see on them. But in cubism you brake up the picture into pieces and, then rearrange some things, and color it in abstract kind of way.
