LITURGY OF THE HOURS • Feasts • Morning & Evening Prayer • There is no Evening Prayer I on the evening before. • See Pages 1059 thru 1353 (Proper of Saints). • Use the GUIDE for the ROMAN-FRANCISCAN CHRISTIAN PRAYER to determine whether or not the day is a feast (F). • Morning Prayer & Evening Prayer • the same as a Solemnity • See Slides 10 & 13

LITURGY OF THE HOURS • Memorials • See Pages 1059 thru 1353 (Proper of Saints) • Use the GUIDE for the ROMAN-FRANCISCAN CHRISTIAN PRAYER to determine whether or not the day is a memorial (Mem). • Morning & Evening Prayer • The Psalms & canticle are from the current weekday. (See Roman-Franciscan Guide) • The Final Prayer is always proper. • Everything else can come from the Proper if assigned or from either the Commons or current weekday. • There is no Evening Prayer I on the evening before.

LITURGY OF THE HOURS • Weekdays • During Advent, Christmas, Lent & Easter Use the GUIDE for the ROMAN-FRANCISCAN CHRISTIAN PRAYER to determine whether or not the day is a weekday. • During Advent, Christmas, Lent & Easter for either Morning or Evening Prayer. • The entire Psalmody comes from the 4-week Psalter • Psalms & Canticle with their Antiphons • Psalm-Prayers • Use Pages 686 & 687 to determine the antiphon for the Invitatory (Morning Prayer only) • The Reading, Responsory, the Antiphons for the Canticles of Zechariah & Mary, Intercessions, & Final Prayer come from the Proper of Seasons.

LITURGY OF THE HOURS • Miscellaneous Notes • Invitatory Psalm • Belongs at the beginning of each day’s prayer • If said with the Office of Readings, it does not need to said with Morning Prayer. • Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday can be said when an optional memorial is permitted. • Office of the Dead • November 2nd • Can be used at a wake service.
