The Organic Meat Company Limited • The company expands its existing slaughter house by introducing offal processing line and expansion of vacuum based packing technology to cater increasing demand of processed meat in Middle East Countries. In 2013, the company exported 2,800 tons of fresh chilled and frozen meat with annual revenues of Rs. 1,200 Million • Considering the present trend and increasing local demand, it is expected that in future, demand for livestock products will increase at a higher rate primarily on account of increase in population and the elasticity of demand associated with meat products

  14. HORTICULTURE Reliance Exim Private Limited Installed Buhler Switzerland manufactured plant which will provide quality product (30,000 ons). The company is also installing Grain Storage system from Dehsetiler, Turkey with a storage capacity of 10,000 metric tons, at Port Qasim, Karachi. This kind of projects in Sindh will encourage cultivation of maize in the province providing greater opportunities to local farmers by adding another cash crop as an option.

  15. POULTRY Ispahani Foods The poultry industry is adopting new technologies to enhance productivity & minimize infection risks. Environment controlled shed is one of the technological advancement being used to counteract adverse effect of heat stress by providing tunnel ventilation & enhancing the wind chill effect. These sheds, when equipped with automatic chain feeding and nipple drinking systems, make the environment conductive for poultry production and reduce the risk of bacteria during seasons

POULTRY Marhaba Protein Farm (Poultry Breeder Farm for Breeder Stock) • Current breeding capacity of poultry breeder farms in Sindh can only cater 5% of poultry farms in Sindh • Currently, more than 90% of DOCs supply comes from Punjab • 70,000 pure line Parent Birds will be placed for breeding at three distinct locations in District Tando Allahyar Location: TalukaJhando Mari, District TandoAllahyar Project Size: Rs. 350 Mn Capacity : 600,000 KGs / month

  19. COLD VALUE CHAIN Al-Madina Cold Storage Controlled Atmospheric Cold Store facility • About 30% of fruits and vegetables produced in Pakistan are being wasted due to post harvest handling. Only 3% to 4% of the total production goes through processing and only about 5% out of it is exported • Logistic strategies, the cold store of perishable items is an inevitable part of modern distribution system • An atmospherically controlled cold storage facility will be established within ‘Karachi Fruit Mandi’ Location : Fruit Mandi, Superhighway, Karachi Project Size : Rs. 235 Mn Capacity : 2,000 tons

VALUE CHAIN (Packaging & Processing) E-Beam Irradiation (E-Beam accelerator plant for Irradiation of Becteria) • Utilization of EB Irradiation Technology to Eliminate Disease Causing Micro-Organisms in order to Increase Shelf Life of Pharma and Food Products • First of its kind in Sindh • EB Technology eliminates the disease causing micro-organisms from food and pharma products and doubles the shelf life from 7 days to 14 days (approx.). Location : North Zone, Port Qasim, Karachi Project Size : Rs. 170 Mn

PROJECTS IN PIPELINE Tissue Culture Lab • Sindh produces 90% Banana of the country: 100 m tons • Bunchy Top Virus has adversely effected the banana plantations in Sindh • Need for a commercial scale tissue culture lab is felt like never before. • Solution is to produce identical virus free plantlets through micro-propagation methods • Bio Technology Institute of Pakistan (BTIP) in collaboration with SERENDIP – Sri Lanka is setting up a tissue culture facility for the development of following plantlet: • Banana (William Hybrid Variety) • Enthuriums • Orchids and others

  22. PROJECTS IN PIPELINE Reliance Aqua Semi Intensive Shrimp Farm Shrimp / Prawn is a high value seafood commodity that naturally occurs in the fertile waters of the Sindh. Selected site provides an ideal environment & climate conditions for the growth of commercial species. There is high demand & short supply for shrimps in international markets due to Early Mortality Syndrome and other disease which have hit major farming countries like Thailand, India and others. This provides Pakistan a great opportunity to enter the global shrimp market. The proposed project details are as under: Location :MirpurSakro Project Size :Rs. 200 Mn 25 ponds x 2.5 acres each Shrimp Farming Intensity:50-60 shrimp per sq.mtr Crop Size : 250 tons x 2 crops

Development of Storage/Warehouse Facility Under Warehouse Receipt Based Financing of SBP Collateral Management Company (CMC) is being incorporated by the Central Depository Company (CDC) to support Warehouse Receipt based Financing Scheme of State Bank of Pakistan Develop prototype / model storage facilities certified by banks to introduce warehouse receipt based lending Grain silo Horticulture cold store Plain warehouse (green field) Upgrade of existing plain warehouse PROJECTS IN PIPELINE • Interest rate subsidy for investors to develop warehouses
