  3. ▣ I. HMC VEHICLE AUDIT RESULT - HMC • HMC`s audit result has revealed that BSM gear whine noise is unacceptable for some modules, regarding the interior sound quality of NF vehicle. • Now the BSM whine issue is one of the top HMC’s quality problem items. • From recent engine and vehicle test, it can be concluded that MD`s EOL test criteria is not adequate. - Having good correlation of EOL test and whine noise is important. • Root cause analysis and improvements should be followed.

STATUS OF BSM NVH ISSUES – HMC • Whine Noise. • Quality problem – module to module variation is large. • Ground gear effect It reduces the whine noise (Recent modules have 70th order whine.) Break-in effect –no reduction of whine noise on engine test. • Rattle Noise. • Sound quality problem especially out of cabin

  6. ▣ IV. BSM NVH IMPROVEMENT PROPASAL - HMC • Whine Improvement • HMC Rig test result shows a reasonable correlation between BSM vibration and noise. From this rig test result, good correlated EOL test will be increase production capability. • Necessity of Sweep test • Root cause analysis and countermeasures. • Rattle Improvement • Reasonable Rig test method • Necessity of Sound Quality Analysis • Root cause analysis and countermeasures.

Correlation Between Rig and Whine • - 2000~3200 RPM Sweep • Correlation Between MD EOL and Whine • - Steady 1200rpm Meshing NG O.K 4 SET O.K 6 SET Meshing OK 0.65G 1.25G Correlated Rig Noise level ▣ IV. BSM NVH IMPROVEMENT PROPASAL – Whine #3 Comparison of MD EOL with HMC RIG Test Correlation • MD EOL has correlation only below 0.65g because of poor correlation below 1.25g that has 3 NG module. • Rig Test using rpm sweep data has good correlation than EOL test and will increase OK sample. Engine Noise level
