Steps to be done at • 1) Exchange • 2) Subscriber Premises
At the Exchange , • Note down the 9digit IPEI number from ALM (eg:00210023A) • Create a subscriber at OMC using command “chgsub-add” • Use service type as voice & authentication code as 11223344 for easy subscription ( for more details refer OMC PPT) • Connect ALM to CPM using ALM-CPM cable • Power up the CPM from AC mains • Keep the ALM in line of sight to CBS • Connect a telephone instrument to CPM • Set the telephone dial mode to DTMF
At the Exchange Cont.., • Go off-hook & dial password # # 0055555 • After acceptance tone heard go on-hook • Go off-hook & dial # # 13, this initializes the FRS settings to factory default. After acceptance tone heard go on-hook • Go off-hook & dial password # # 0055555 • After acceptance tone heard go on-hook • Go off-hook & dial # #25***(or)the string generated by OMC • Acceptance tone is heard followed by RSSI beeps. Voice subscription is done.
At the Exchange Cont.., • The dissub-lst command in OMC shows the Voice subscription status from PENDING to DONE • If subscription is not happening, Verify the message in log file subdbg.log if any IPEI mismatch • Going repeated off-hook check for the • 1) Immediate dial tone • 2) RSSI beeps ( Should be 8 beeps when CBS nearby) • 3) Operation from the battery by Switching OFF AC mains • FRS unit ready for installation • FRS unit ready for installation
Physical Connections • Fix the ALM on 3/4” Gi pipe using ALM-Fixture • Connect ALM to CPM using ALM-CPM cable • Hold the ALM in line of sight to CBS • Connect the telephone instrument to CPM • Power ON CPM (If necessary fix CPM on Wall) • Antenna positioning • Dial DTMF code # # 41 • If LOS is clear this will deliver continuous tone without any break/disturbance • Slowly rotate ALM and look for the better position where the tone received is maximum in volume and no break/disturbance . Then FIX the pipe rigidly
Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI) Check • Dial DTMF code # # 42 & count number of RSSI beeps • This has to be i) equal or greater than 3 beeps ii) stable, for the guaranteed voice connection • Force Locking FRS to Particular BS(Base Station) • This is necessary when the FRS antenna has the possibility of receiving signal from more than one BS, which are in different distance from FRS • Force lock the FRS to one BS where RSSI is received high
Force Locking Procedure • Go off-hook Dial password # # 0055555 • After acceptance tone heard go on-hook • Go off-hook Dial # # 313BBB • Where, BBB = 3 digit CBS/RBS Id ( to be force locked) • Enter BBB as 255 for releasing the force lock • Setting the Distance code • Go Off-hook Dial password # # 0055555, Go on-hook • Go Off-hook Dial # # 3150DD • DD=00 for the distance within 1.5km • DD=01 for 1.5 to 2.5km, DD=02 for 2.5 to 3.5km • ………and so on DD=24 for the distance 24.5to 25.5 km • The code # # 305D can be used to set the distance up to 10km in the similar steps mentioned above
Checking for Dial tone: - • When the correct distance code is set, immediate dial tone is heard • Check for the consistency of dial tone by going repeated off-hook • If delay in dial tone is observed then change the distance code to adjacent and check again
Doing Echo Cancellation • Go Off-hook Dial # # 01 * 951 * • After the acceptance tone heard Go On-hook • Go the next Off-hook by closing the mouthpiece of the receiver • After a chirp sound is heard go On-hook • Echo cancellation done • Installation is completed go for the functionality check
