  1. Argentina Rodeo Soccer is a very popular sport in South America, however when I think of Argentina, soccer is not the first word that comes to mind. Rodeo is definitely a more traditional sport, but it was and still is wildly popular in Argentina. Buenos Aires, Rosario, and other major cities hosted rodeos the most. It became very popular in the twentieth-century. The Argentina Sport Society announced a competition between the U.S. and Argentina for rodeo! Rodeo really didn’t seem like a big sport, but in Argentina it is! Leather Leather is a very popular craft in Argentina. Argentina learned abut leather when hey first settled and discovered abandoned cattle. Therefore, the Argentine Leather Industry was born. This provided work for many residents who has just recently moved there. Argentina started to be able to provide leather furnishings for the wealthy, saddles and boots for the military, and they also were able to make a lot of money off of the beef. Almost the whole cow could’ve been used for many different products. Today, cattle still roam Argentina’s plains and are used for multiple purposes. The cow hide is used to make the leather.

  2. Argentina Male Dress The traditional dress for males in Argentina used to be a “Gaucho Cowboy” look. This ensemble would have wide brimmed hat, a poncho, and a loose pair of trousers tucked into boots. Men who work in rural areas and who want a more traditional look tend to wear these clothes. They don’t always wear them for a traditional look because there could be many different reasons someone would wear clothes like that. Female Dress Females have very similar dress compared to the males. Gaucho women wear loose, flowing skirts of many different colors. They wear blouses on the top, and sometimes a poncho. Normally, they just wear simple black shoes. The female Gaucho dress is very simple compared to the male Gaucho dress.

  3. Argentina Cuisine Empanadas are very traditional food of Argentina. They are like little tortilla with food stuffed on the inside. These “tortillas” are thick to keep all of the food inside from falling out. Beef, ham, fish, almost any meat, cheese, and vegetables are some things that people like to have in their Empanadas. Others prefer more of a sweet flavor and decide to try the dessert Empanadas. These can be filled with chocolate, pudding, whipped cream, powdered sugar, dulce de leche, and just about what ever else sounds good! Recipe: Dulce de Leche and Apple Empanadas Ingredients: (12 empanadas) 12 small empanada discs, homemade or store bought
3 medium apples, peeled, cored and diced
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
10 oz. dulce de leche
1 large egg, beaten
2 tbspwater Directions: 1. Place the apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and dulce de leche in a bowl and mix well. Mix the water and beaten egg in a small bowl. Set aside. 2. To assemble the empanadas spoon the dulce de leche and apple mixture on the center of the empanada discs. 3. Brush the edges of the empanada discs with the egg and water mixture (this will help them seal
better). 4. Fold the empanada discs and seal the edges, use a fork to help seal the empanadas. 5. Lightly brush the top of each empanada with the rest of the egg mixture, this will give a nice golden glow when they bake. 6. Place the empanadas on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rest for at least 15 minutes. Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden. 7. Serve warm or at room temperature.
