  1. I heard our teacher say “output” in class yesterday. What do you think that means? I don’t know, let’s ask. Hey Mac – What’s Output?? That’s an easy one. Output is anything that comes out of a computer. It could be a display on the computer screen, hardcopy on printed pages, or even the audio playback of music you composed on the computer. Let me show you.

The first type of output is Visual Output Just like a television set (an older one, anyway) the CRT monitor contains a large cathode ray tube that uses an electron beam of varying strength to “paint” a picture onto the color phosphorescent dots on the inside of the screen. The LCD consists of several thin layers that polarize the light passing through them. WOW! Video Output is really cool! A video projector takes a video signal and projects the corresponding image on a projection screen using a lens system. ZvBox Broadcasts any Internet TV or Computer Content to your HDTVs

  3. Hey Mac, what about audio. Is that an output too? It sure is! There are a ton of different Audio Output devices. One type is voice recorders or TTS devices. These turn text into speech. And of course you know about speakers. Those are audio devices too, since they output sound from the computer to your ears!

  4. Another type of output is Hard Copy Output. The most common form being printers. So I use output all the time when I use my ink jet printer and I didn’t even know it! A laser printer produces good quality images by the same technology that photocopiers use. A drum coated with photosensitive material is charged, then an image is written onto it by a laser The most common type of printer for home systems is the color ink jet printer. These printers form the image on the page by spraying tiny droplets of ink from the print head.

  5. Hey Kids. I bet you didn’t think of your IPod as output either but it is. It’s just one type of Storage Output External hard drives and flash drives are other types of storage output. I get it! It’s because we “output” our music onto it!
