  2. ALGEBRAIC PRODUCTS AND QUOTIENTS IN INDEX NOTATION The algebraic products of sets in multiplication of the same ones following the common algebraic methods consists. When a quotient is raised to a power, both the numerator and denominator are raised to the power. So in this example, the product of “an” would be “a” multiplied by however many “n” there is.

  3. INDEX LAWS To multiply numbers with the same base, keep the base and add the indices. To divide numbers with the same base keep the base and add the indices. To divide numbers with the same base, keep the base and subtract the indices. When raising a power to a power, keep the base and multiply the indices.

  4. EXPANSION LAWS According to this example, if “n” is a positive integer, then: However, this is providing that “b” doesn’t equal 0.
