  9. What is a SWOT Analysis? • Stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats • Used in the preliminary stages of decision making in preparation for more comprehensive strategic planning (Johnson, Scholes, & Sexty 1989; Bartol & Martin 1991)
