  2. Today’s Objectives • Understanding IR • What, Where, Why, and Who • Believing in IR • Selling Listen • Knowing our competition • The Power of the Demo • Use the Tools! • The Future is Bright!

  3. WHAT is IR? • Audio Transmission via infrared light • Audio path similar to RF

  4. How is IR like FM • FM uses RF waves to transmit audio – just like a radio station • The audio rides on a wave -just like a surfer • IR uses IR light waves to transmit audio – it’s just like RF

  5. Audio Path • Audio Source -> Transmitter -> Radiator -> Receiver

  6. How the System Works - Transmitter • Audio signals are received at the LT-82 transmitter. • The transmitter processes the audio and creates a single RF carrier from 2.3 to 3.8mHz. • This carrier is delivered to the radiator using coaxial cable along with DC power using CAT-5 cable to power the radiator.

  7. How the System Works - Radiator • The radiator then modulates 84 Infrared emitting diodes (IRED). • The diodes work like a headlight to fill the room with IR light.
