  1. Welcome to Parent Night Please find your (child's) folder at the front table and choose a table spot for our meeting. At 5:00 2 of our specialists will come to take the students for some fun while we meet. Our Parent Meeting will begin at 5:00 and the students will return at 5:30 to put away their supplies! ~Karen Davidson

Daily Schedule: 8:30-8:50  Students Arrive/Morning Jobs 8:50-9:10  Morning Meeting 9:10-10:15  Guided Math (Snack/Bathroom Break @ 10:15) 10:30-11:00 Science/Social Studies/Writing 11:00-12:00 Specials/Rocket Math/Read Aloud 12:05-12:35  Lunch 12:45-2:30 Reading/Daily 5 2:30-2:50 Afternoon Recess 2:50-3:10  Writing/Book Groups/Read Aloud/Appreciations 3:10-3:25  Afternoon Jobs/Closing Circle 3:25   Dismissal

  6. Social Studies/ Project Postcard We will be collecting postcards for the entire year for students to learn about different places, improve their reading, and work on their map skills. More information is contained in your child's Take Home folder!

  8. Homework *Please make a priority!!! *About 20 minutes/night

on your needs!

  11. Book Boxes Kept at school, but students may bring in books and 
magazines from home to read. Attendance/Tardiness/Illness Please be sure your child makes it school on days he/she is not ill. Days lost at school are very difficult for children to make up. Please be sure to have your child to school on time each day. Please do not send your child to school if he or she is ill. Changes in Plans Please send a note with your child if he/she has a change 
of plans for the end of the day. I will not allow students to 
change their plans without a note or phone call. Please do 
not send an e-mail on the day of a change in case I do not 
have the opportunity to check e-mail before the end of the 
day.

respectful and hard-working classroom

  13. Volunteers More information will be sent home after the first week of school! Dress Code Tennis shoes are required for both gym class and recess. If your child does not have proper footwear he/she will not be allowed to participate. FLIP FLOPS, Crocs and snow boots will not be allowed!

  16. Snacks The morning can get long without a snack, I encourage you to send a HEALTHY snack each day! Water bottles are also welcome! Birthdays We will celebrate birthdays with a special song, book and props. No birthday treats, please.

  17. All About Me Week Each child we be assigned a week that he/she is the All About Me person! A note will be sent home about this date soon.

  18. Sharing Day to day sharing will be verbal. 
Your child will have the opportunity to 
share items from home during 
his/her All About Me Week time and on 
special occassions. Toys at School Please DO NOT send them!

  19. Please be sure to confirm your end of the day pick up schedule. The first day can be very confusing for the students! Also, for the safety of all at Kennedy, please 
drop off your child from the side parking lot 
and not the front of the building! For pick up this year all families will receive a 
car number. Please stop at the gym to get 
your number! THANK YOU!
