  1. UB Career ServicesOn-Campus Interviewing-Part 3 of 3 Login to BullsEye Uploading your resume Searching for postings Applying for positions Thank you for viewing this presentation on the UB Career Services on-campus interviewing program. This is part 3 of a 3 part series. Please be sure to consult with Career Services in 259 Capen Hall or by calling (716)645-2231 with any questions you may have.

  2. Now we are ready to login into BullsEye Now that we have gone over all the policies and tips for preparing for on-campus interviewing, it is time to talk about how to login into BullsEye in order to search and apply for opportunities.

  3. Step 1:Locate the Career Services homepage The first step is to locate the Career Services homepage at ub-careers.buffalo.edu.

  4. Start Here: Career Services www.ub-careers.buffalo.edu If your webpage looks like this screenshot you are in the right place.

  5. Step 2:Log on to BullsEye The next step is to login to the BullsEye system. As we talked about earlier, BullsEye is a password-protected portion of the Career Services website with numerous career resources at your disposal. Both students and alumni have unlimited access to these tools and products. While you are able to view hundreds of job, internship and volunteer opportunities in BullsEye we are going to focus on its use for the purposes of on-campus interviewing during this presentation.

  6. BullsEye is here. From the Career Services homepage click the BullsEye link in the top left hand corner of the page.

  7. You will be prompted to enter your UBit name and password just as you would if you were logging into UBLearns or MyUB.

  8. Your BullsEye home page Upload your resume After you login you will see the BullsEye homepage, similar to the one on screen. In order to facilitate a smooth upload of your resume for positions, you should upload your resume by clicking the “Documents” section of BullsEye as shown by the red arrow. This also is the place to access InterviewStream-the interviewing preparation resource we discussed earlier. You can see the link as the first option under the “Jump To” category.

  9. If you have not logged into BullsEye in the past academic year, you will be routed to a page similar to this one. Do not be alarmed by this, it simply means you will need to update your profile. This consists of ensuring your demographic information is correct, choosing the types of positions you are interested in, and acknowledging the privacy policy of BullsEye. Altogether, this process should take no longer than a few minutes. Before you can proceed, you must update your profile if you haven’t already done so this academic year After you complete this step, or if you have already completed this process this academic year, you will be allowed to proceed with uploading your resume.

  10. After clicking the “Documents” tab you will see the option to add your resume After choosing the “Documents” section you will see this screen with an “Add New” link at the left hand side of the bottom of the page. Clicking that link will prompt a new box to appear on screen which will allow you to upload your resume and name the file. Your document section of BullsEye can handle multiple documents at once so you are able to upload multiple resumes, cover letters, transcripts, or other required materials.

  11. Step 3:Search for positions Now that we have discussed how to upload your resume and other supporting documents, we can move on to searching for opportunities.

  12. Return to your BullsEye home page. Click here to search for jobs. After completing the upload process, click the “Home” tab to return to the BullsEye homepage. The next step is to start searching for potential positions of interest. To do this, click the tab labeled “Jobs/Internships/OCI.”

  13. Click “All Interviews” to show all employers conducting on-campus interviews From the page you are redirected to, click on the drop down menu on the right side of the page labeled “Show Me.” The option labeled “All Interviews” will show all employers that are conducting on-campus interviews.

  14. This filter will show you interviews you qualify for. If you choose “Interviews I Qualify for” the filter will only show you interviews you qualify for based on the employer’s criteria. Some employers may use screening criteria which will limit who may apply. For example, an employer may screen by: major, degree level, or work authorization. If you see a job in “All Interviews” but not “Interviews I qualify for,” then you know the company used screening criteria.

  15. Your search results This a screenshot of an example set of search results. As you can see, the results will show the basic information regarding the position including the name of the company, the location of the position, the type of position, and the application deadline.

  16. Sort by “Deadline.” The “Deadline” is when you need to submit your resume by. In order to help you plan out when you need to have your resume submitted for various positions, you can choose the “Sort” feature to sort the available positions by the application deadline. This will allow you to see the opportunities with the closest current deadline.

  17. Sample job description Clicking on a position of interest will allow you to see all the necessary information about the position in detail. This will include the position description and the qualifications.

  18. Highlighted is the most critical section for the purposes of on-campus interviewing (due dates for the application and dates for the interviews). Each opportunity that is on-campus will have this important information listed underneath the apply section of the posting. It will disclose the start and end date for resume submission, the sign up start and end date for interviews (if you are chosen), and the last day to cancel. This also allows you to know upfront when the actual interview will be held in our office if you are invited. Critical info for On-Campus Interviewing.

  19. Step 4:Applying Now that we have learned how to search for positions that may be of interest to us, the next step is to understand how to apply for a position.

  20. For a given position you would like to apply for, click on the “Apply” icon on the right hand side of the page. This will open a new box automatically in the center of the screen. This will prompt you to upload the documents that specific position requires. This can include things such as a resume or a cover letter. If you have already uploaded your resume/other materials to the “Documents” section of BullsEye you will see that it will allow you to simply send the previously uploaded resume or other related documents. You may also upload a new document at this time, if you so choose, by clicking the “Add New” icon. Click on “Apply” for application information

  21. Remember that for each individual position for which you would like to be considered, you need to apply and upload your documents to that respective posting. Simply uploading your resume to the “Documents” section of BullsEye DOES NOT mean you have applied to a certain position. REMEMBER! You need to upload your documents separately to each individual position for which you would like to be considered. Simply uploading your resume to the “Documents” section of BullsEye DOES NOT mean you have applied to a certain position.

  22. Click on “Interviews” To view the interviews you have requested and the interviews that are scheduled. Once you have applied for a position, you can log back into BullsEye at any time and check the status of your application. You can do this by clicking the “Interviews” tab to view any pending interviews you have requested and the interviews that you have scheduled.

  23. If you are chosen you will receive an email prompting you to log back in and select a timeslot for the interview. If an employer selects you for an on-campus interview you will receive an email from Career Services, prompting you to go back into BullsEye and select a timeslot. You will be able to find your interview requests in the column on the left hand side of the page. You will be prompted to go back into these postings and select an interview time that fits your schedule.

  24. Summary • Have your resume critiqued. • Make sure to upload your resume to each individual position for which you would like to be considered. • Prepare for the interview by researching the position and employer. • Conduct a practice interview. • Dress in appropriate business attire. Always research the employer and position prior to the interview in order to be a well-informed candidate in the interview itself and make sure to wear appropriate, formal business attire. If you are selected for an interview, schedule a live practice interview or utilize InterviewStream in order to practice your responses. In conclusion, it is critically important to portray yourself in the best possible way to potential employers. This process starts with the resume and continues through the interview. Because the purpose of the resume is to obtain the interview, you should always make sure to have it critiqued prior to submission. Make sure to check for new job and internship postings weekly starting in the beginning of each semester.
