Purpose • Opportunity for swimmers from multiple counties (throughout the entire San Francisco Bay Area from Sacramento to the valley) to conclude recreational swim season in a large championship meet • Enables the “best of the best” in the Bay Area to compete as an All Star! • Swimmers who meet minimum time qualifications or finish in the top eight in an individual event at their respective league, city, or area final meet are eligible
Venue • 13-lane competition pool • 6-lane warm-up / cool-down pool • Las Positas College300 Campus Hill DriveLivermore CA 94551 • Brand NEW Facility! • Opportunity for growth Directions: From I-580, exit Airway Blvd toward Collier Canyon. Turn right onto North Canyons Pkwy. Turn left onto Campus Hill Drive.
Format • Saturday, August 7th - Preliminaries for all events Preliminary heats across 12 lanes • Sunday, August 8th – Consolations and Finals (8 lanes) Consolation heat – swimmers finishing 9th to 16th Final heat – swimmers finishing 1st to 8th • Times 7:00 to 8:30 am – Open warm ups 8:30 to 8:45 am – Warm ups for 8 and younger only 9:00 – Meet start • Order of Events • Individual medley (100 yd for ages 7 – 18) • Freestyle (25 yd – 8 and younger, 50 yd – 9 to 14, 100 yd – 15 to 18) • Breaststroke (25 yd – 8 and younger, 50 yd – 9 to 14, 100 yd – 15 to 18) • Medley relay (minimum of 2 individual qualifiers per relay) (100 yd – 8 and younger, 200 yd – 9 to 18) • Butterfly (25 yd – 8 and younger, 50 yd – 9 to 14, 100 yd – 15 to 18) • Backstroke (25 yd – 8 and younger, 50 yd – 9 to 14, 100 yd – 15 to 18) • Free relay (minimum of 2 individual qualifiers per relay) (100 yd – 8 and younger, 200 yd – 9 to 18)
Fees • $4.00 per swimmer (pool use/splash fee) • $5.00 per swimmer per individual event • $8.00 per relay per relay event NOTE: Swimmer may compete in four individual events if they meet qualification standards • Program available for nominal fee
Work assignments and Entries • Timing and recording assignments based on number of swimmers entered • Responsible for positions Saturday and Sunday • Sunday work assignments may be adjusted depending on qualifiers for finals/consolations • Each team is required to provide names of two qualified stroke and turn officials • Entry deadline – Monday, August 2nd • A completed entry packet includes: 1) Team information sheet (next slide) 2) Team fee summary worksheet 3) Meet entry form (Hytek preferred) 4) Check payable to Aquaknights Swim Team 5) Proof of insurance indicating current year of swim team liability coverage for your team. 6) Provide a certificate of insurance naming Las Positas College and Aquaknights Swim Team/Diamond Hills Sports Club & Spa Note: The entry times are under review. Initial times are calculated by averaging the times of the top eighth finisher in league or city championship meets. We need your 2009 league final results.
