Maths Focus: Addition and subtraction of numbers less than 10 0000 Use formal and informal written methods for addition and subtraction Classify degrees of likelihood Draw and interpret line graphs·       English Focus: Myths and Legends from India. The Bharunda Bird/ Birth of A Rainbow etc. Indian poetry. Symbolisation. Rudyard Kipling poems. Science Focus: The Water Cycle - Processes involved in Water cycle. Filtration experiment. ICT Focus: Databases. Produce and use databases to ask and answer questions. Art Focus Week: Research and present a range of Islamic/Hindu Patterns. Focus on the methods used by others. Sketch patterns and colour using a range of materials. Evaluate their own with that of others. Design and make own Islamic/rangoli patterns Our Topic this half term is called: WOW Indian Banquet An Indian Journey Skills of Thinking, Communication, ICT and Number will be developed throughout our topic in all curriculum areas undertaken this term! • Other Curriculum Focus:Welsh, PSHE and Geography • Cymraeg – Writing postcards • PSHE – Building Learning Power – Multiculturalism - Value diversity, Understand that people differ in their ways of life. Identify traditional customs of Indian culture and ask research questions about the way of life of another culture. • Geography – India – Where is India, routes to India, Life in India and comparing Keshapur to Cwmfelinfach • Other Information: • Big Read Week April 20th • Inspection week May 18th. • Fruity Friday May 22nd • Homework and PE: • Please ensure Homework is completed • Spellings – Given Monday for Test on Friday. • Maths – Given Friday to hand in Monday. • PE/Games Friday – Outdoor Kit – White t-shirt/ shorts and trainers – jogging bottoms / fleece for colder days
