  3. Food, Drink and Books… Don’t mix well… Spilled food and drink can attract bugs or mice, and can leave permanent damage.

  4. ‘Nuf said?

  5. Please don’t mutilate books Some books can never be replaced… like this Vanderbilt yearbook. Use a photo-copier instead.

  6. PLEASE: • Don’t use sticky notes on library materials • Don’t highlight or underline text • Don’t read in the bathtub! • Don’t use a bacon slice to mark your place in a book • Don’t use a book for an umbrella, or end table, or foot rest, or…

  7. If an item does get wet or damaged… … bring the problem to a library staff member's attention as soon as you can. Sometimes immediate action can save a book.
