Christmas Clearing Council • The CCC of Waukesha will be recognized at the annual Waukesha County Executive Awards luncheon with an honorable mention in the Small Non-Profit of the Year category. • Founded in 1949, it coordinates giving to families in need during the Christmas season. • In 2008, CCC gave to more than 4,600 children. • Claire Beglinger, president

General Education Committee Update • Three Summer Teams • Refined specific components of the proposed new Pioneer Core • Coordinated Core (freshman, sophomore and writing seminars and capstone) • Distribution Areas • Cross-cultural Components (cross-cultural experience and modern language) • Gen Ed Committee will review and prepare a proposal for faculty review and approval in the fall • Goals: Pilots begin fall 2010, implementation fall 2011

  10. Nursing NCLEX Update • 63 of 64 students have taken this exam • 60, or 95% (of the 63) have passed • 58, or 90.6% (of the 64) have passed • Congratulations to Angie Brindowski, Genee Brukwitzki, Joyce Ennis, and Jane Hopp

  11. Katie Sanders Electronic Resources and Serials Librarian (also archivist) • Her work will give students access to 100 subscription databases and almost 65,000 individual e-journals! • This is more than 3 times the number of electronic journals the library offered last year.

Title III and Gen Ed Revision • Two of the Title III initiatives will be integrated into the planning and rollout of the new Pioneer Core: • Faculty development will focus on supporting the interactive nature of the proposed First- and Second- Year Seminars (FYS and SYS). • Advisors will be trained to support faculty advising in FYS and SYS
