I. Background A. Project • SEA-EU-NET 2 (October 2012 – September 2016) is a project financed by the European Union’s 7th Framework Programme for Research and Innovation • The project running for 4 years (SEA-EU-NET 2) builds on the results and outcomes of the (SEA-EU-NET 1) project concluded in 2012; successful implementation of the ASEAN-EU Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012.

ASEAN – EU STI Days • The annual ASEAN-EU Science, Technology and Innovation Days (STI Days) serve as a visible forum for cooperation activities between the two regions in the field of STI. • The event addresses researchers, policy makers, research conducting companies and innovation managers from most thematic areas – with a focus on the societal challenges with relevance to both regions.

II. IPR Workshop General Concept • Objectives: • To gather project representatives and selected experts from public and private sectors to introduce and discuss relevant IPR issues to the target audience • To identify good practice cases of supporting IPR in private and public sectors • To support cooperation for the framework conditions in STI and effective private-public partnership • Target Audience: • EU and ASEAN researchers involved in bi-regional projects • EU and ASEAN innovative companies with experience and/or interest in producing IP through bi-regional projects • Representatives of EU and ASEAN Member State innovation-related ministries and funding agencies • Other relevant stakeholders

IPR Workshop Co-organizers ASEAN IPR SME Helpdeskproject Contact: Jakub Ramocki: jakub.ramocki@eurocham.or.id The ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk project has conducted in-depth and comprehensive studies on IPR issues in ASEAN with key outcomes (such as the IP country profiles) available to the public • TheEuropean ASEAN Business Centre (EABC) in Thailand • Contact: Nantisa Leerasetthakorn: counsel@eabc-thailand.eu • EABC has a consortium of 16 Thai and European organizations with a membership of around 2,000 companies in Thailand. They provide the IPR workshop with their extensive network and expertise in supporting European SMEs.
