  6. Coherence allows a reader to _(follow)____ your ideas easily • Coherent paragraphs flow __(Smoothly)__ from __(beginning)___ to end • Sentences in coherent paragraphs should lead one sentence __(naturally)__ to the next sentence.

  8. Use noun and pronoun __(consistency)__ • Use __(Transitional Signals)__to show relationship between ideas • Put your ideas into some sort of __(order)__ such as logical division of ideas.

  9. Nouns and pronouns need to be consistent • If a sentence uses a plural noun, it must continue to use a plural noun. • Pronouns: do not change pronouns. For example, do not switch from you to they or he for no reason. If you use the pronoun “you” at the beginning of the paragraph, continue to use it throughout the rest of the paragraph. Consistency
