  1. Earth Drumming NAADTANTRA

  2. The idea • NAAD TANTRA • One Earth, One Sound • Drumming has been used across the Universe in communicating messages since time immemorial. From conveying Political messages propagated by the Kings and Emperors, connecting one community with neighbouring communities, to accompanying dances and music as forms of celebrations – drums have always played a vital role as a communication tool. • India, with its vast traditional and folk heritage has had its fair share of different forms of drums which has kept changing its look, shape and even sound since ancient times. • Today’s world which has been witness to innumerable wars, power politics, food scarcity, ill health and malnutrition, a terribly tilt of equilibrium of wealth and the constant fights by the powerful to earn more power in order to oppress the underprivileged to a limit that is mostly unbearable, needs to be shaken of its complacence. It’s time we told our fellow citizens “Imagine, there’s no country…”. It is one Earth which resonates in the same beats. • “NAAD TANTRA – One Earth, One Sound” – is a Global Rhythm Project conceived by Tanmoy Bose, the noted Tabla maestro, where 100 drummers with their different drums will create One Sound – that of Unity, that of Harmony, that of Peace. This Global Rhythm Project will showcase all leading rhythm and music exponents from across India and the world – starting from Taufiq Qureshi, Trilok Gurtu, Sivamani and Bose himself to the likes of Shubha Mudgal and Usha Uthup. • This concert will travel across towns in India and abroad communicating one idea – that of world peace and harmony – an idea that we all believe can change the world.
