So far we have learned that there are three tenses of the subjunctive…. present: imperfect: plu perfect: Today we are learning a new tense that can show up in the subjunctive mood. It is called the perfect subjunctive. INDIC SUBJV laudās => laudēs INDIC SUBJV laudābās => laudārēs INDIC SUBJV laudāverās => laudāvissēs

  7. Questions 3 – 5 should now be complete PERFECT ACTIVE SUBJUNCTIVE The perfect subjunctive active is easy to recognize and form. You form it by: • going to the perfect stem (3rd principle part without -ī) • adding -eri- • then finally adding the personal ending (m, s, t, mus, tis, nt) Another way to look at this is: PERF ACT SUBJV FORMS = FUTURE PERFECT FORMS (IMPORTANT exception 1stperssg. –erō=> -erim)

  15. Direct vs. Indirect question….. Why is there a subjunctive in the second of these two sentences? Camillus rōgāvit“QuidRomaeagitis?” Camillus Gallōsrōgāvitquid Romaeagerent. Magister rōgat “Quae medicuspollicitusest?” Magister rogatquae medicuspollicitussit. How would the indirect question in this sentence need to be phrased if we were to fill in the blank for the second sentence? Senatōrēsquid terror sit in exercitūexponunt.
