Expectations & support from OEM • Select supplier purely on merit ground • Complete documentation & full proof design • Advance and Accurate Planning • Honoring promises • Understanding manufacturing limitations • Simplifying QAP & Inspection Test Plans • Compensate extra work , inventory etc. • Value Vendor’s time • Compare cost and not the price • Do not force your terms & conditions

Raising Quality to Global standards • Following relevant standards (IEC,NEC,IS..) • ERP system for traceability and interlocking • Computerized or fully automatic test facility • Skilled work force as process demands • Work Instruction & Flow chart for each process • Stage wise inspection • Proper equipment for Material Handling • Water ,Sun & Dust proof Environment • Cleanliness of Plant & Equipment • Protection of assembly at each stage

Controlling Cost • Give Volume to supplier for Price control • Give options to have a check on price • Avoid loading Services (field wiring ,commissioning ..) • Work out Price on Cost plus basis • Don't keep negotiating price every time. • Take Vendor’s suggestions for price reduction • Reduce man power cost rather than material cost • Use modular design and lay outs • Allow supplier to select class C items.

Improving Delivery • Avoid too many Product variants • Plan & fore cast requirement as per lead time • Help supplier for bottle neck if any • Do not keep changing delivery plan for small reasons • Improve internal coordination (PEQSF) • Implement strict document control • Speed up decisions • Proper material flow ,minimum handling • Zero rejections during In process & final inspection
