  1. CardaxFT for Airport Security

  2. Purpose of this presentation • This presentation introduces:- Cardax FT solution for airport environment- Scalability and integration- Functionality Cardax FT Command Centre (software) Key Devices and features

  3. Airport Environment • Can be the size of a small citycheck in area, shopping mall, various terminals, lounges, runways, car parks • Millions of passengers, not to mention cargo pass through every year • Open 24 hours, a ‘public’ place, with areas of high security

  4. Airport Security • Security now critical factor more than ever - safety of travellers and airport staff • Terrorism / sabotage - certain areas must be locked down • Access control used to control flow of passengers and restrict access to unauthorised areas • Secure areas can be monitored, status reported back to system

  5. Aviation Law Tightened for Access • Airports required to develop enhanced access control system • Strengthen access points to secure areas- air traffic control operations, maintenance, crew lounges, baggage handling, concessions, and catering delivery • Post Sept 11, Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA)

  6. Airport Security • Logistical environment, need to monitor the system & immediately respond to priorities with detailed, real time visual and factual information • Respond quickly to changing situations, i.e. terrorist alert - lock down certain areas, fire alert - unlock certain access • Require full traceability of events, including ability to search digital video data associated with events

  7. Cardax Access control and intruder alarms solutions ranging from cost effective systems through to integratable enterprise-wide and single card global security solutions

  8. Airports using Cardax • Beijing Airport - China- Installed 1999 - Readers: > 200 - Cardholders: > 5000 • Liverpool Airport - England - Installed: 2001 - Readers: > 120 - Cardholders: > 10000 • Kuala International Airport Cargo - Malaysia- Installed: 1996 - Readers: 24 - Cardholders: > 6000

  9. Airports using Cardax Guangzhou Airport – China • One of the major gateways to China • Will handle more than 80 million passengers and 2.5 million tonnes of cargo annually • Installed: To be installed during 2004 • Readers: > 340

  10. Extending the Boundaries • Focus is integrated security • Converging security and facilities management • Technology compatible with airport IT infrastructure • Management information perspective for airport management

  11. Cardax FT XtraSec • Security of data is critical to the integrity of the entire system • Cardax FT XtraSec • Protects against competent technical attack or compromise of system communications • Provides superior system security through high level encryption and monitored communications – minimum encryption key length level of 128 bits

  12. Cardax Proprietary Card Format • Enhanced data protection • Encoding of issue level and region code in addition to facility code and card number, providing unique card data across global card databases • Using 8 bit error detection protocol, ensuring that the reader correctly identifies the card being presented by the cardholder

  13. PhotoID • Airport’s responsibility to provide security identification badges for employees working unescorted (Federal Aviation Regulation 107) • Cardax FT PhotoID - ability to design and produce identification cards • Integrated cardholder management tool

  14. Challenge • Provides the ability to double check the identity of cardholders passing through a nominated door via visual comparison of a cardholder image against a live image from a third party system

  15. External Interfacing • Effectively incorporates all types of commonly used airport electronic security technologies • Information storage - reliable integration for integrity of data • Single user interface for smooth operation, with linking of critical events to variety of information and response options

  16. External Interfacing • OPC for Alarms & Events • Building Management and Process Control • Remote Alarms Management (Contact ID) • Time and Attendance package interfaces • CCTV interface • DVR interface • Cardholder Import • Importing cardholder data from external databases using XML Interface

  17. Flight Information Display System • Cardax FT can allow external systems (FIDS) to control access zones, alarm zones, outputs • Boarding gate secure - when FIDS determines boarding gate unlocked, can send info to Cardax FT to disarm alarms, and unlock area • Relay outputs to control lighting / air con Efficient management of resources, security, cost savings

  18. Integration with DVR systems

  19. Perimeter security with PowerFenceTM • For perimeter security install PowerFenceTM system • Security for entire airport covered inside, and out • Alarms managed through Cardax FT Command Centre (one user interface)

  20. Full Intruder Alarmfunctionality • Eliminates need for separate intruder alarm system • Intruder Detection zones can be set up with entry / exit delays • Alarms armed / disarmed by authorised cardholders using readers • Functionality also available at ‘Cardax FT Remote Arming Terminal’

  21. System Division • System division enables airport to be divided amongst operators for system management and monitoring- An operator can only see / manage their division- Suits very large sites with different areas - i.e. international / domestic terminals

  22. Proven Solution for Organisations “The system is software driven and able to be supported from anywhere in the world, enhancing secure environments at remote sites.” Tony Van Noordenburg, Facilities Operations Manager, Shell Australia. Shell Australia - installed Cardax FT in 2001

  23. Proven Solution for Organisations “The beauty of this system is that we can do anything we want in the way of control and administration from Melbourne.” Tony Van Noordenburg, Facilities Operations Manager, Shell Australia. Shell Australia - installed Cardax FT in 2001

  24. Software Maintenance Agreements • Available to Cardax customers to entitle them to receive Cardax FT system software releases for a period of one year, renewable annually • Keep pace with operating platform releases • Keep pace with Cardax FT features and benefits • Enhance system performance and functionality • First year included with purchase of Cardax FT Command Centre
