  6. ESRIN - Frascati: Performance stable Datasink stopped Jan '01 -- restarted June 28 BHM from GSFC stable at 800 kbps (but had dropped to 400 in Jan) Typical daily range 300-1400 kbps (was 100-1500 kbps in Jan) Route stable: via MAX, Abilene to NY, TEN-155, GARR From Norway: 350 kbps -1.1 mbps via UNInet, Nordunet, TEN-155, GARR Now also testing from NASDA: 400-800 kbps CEO/JRC - Ispra: Restarted Feb '01 BH Median about 700 kbps (was 500 Kbps until June, but 1000 in '00) average daily peak is about 800 kbps (but was 1700 in '00) Route: AlterNet all the way. From NASDA: steady 350 kbps Italy

  7. EOC - Hatoyama: NASA-NASDA removed private E1 and installed private 3 mbps ATM service in Feb '00 -- for mission support only. Performance stable - typically 1.6 mbps Route via STAR TAP (Chicago) / TransPAC / IMnet for US Science data Performance stable - typically 1.2 Mbps New testing from GISTDA: via APAN /Imnet -- also 1.2 mbps New testing from AIT; via Sinet / Imnet - 700 kbps typ. NASDA testing to several CEOS sites is available on the Web site Japan - NASDA

  8. AIT: Testing now just via APAN (previously tested commodity also) Abilene-TransPac-APAN: 100- 500 kbps, BHM = 320 Was 60-204 kbps previously (BH median 170) Now also testing from NASDA -- typ 800 kbps GISTDA (NRCT): Testing started Oct '00 Upgrade around July 01 Thruput now 55kbps - 2 mbps, BHM 160 - strong daily congestion cycle Was 55-470 kbps, BHM 120 via Commodity Route: UUNet-Teleglobe-Inet Now also testing from NASDA Less congestion: 900 kbps - 1.5 mbps RFD via commodity Internet 18-100 kbps, BHM = 50 UNINET via Abilene peering in LA 125 kbps - 2 mbps, BHM = 350 kbps -- serious daily congestion SeaStart : Testing stopped Nov '00 Thailand

  9. From GSFC: via Abilene to JAnet in NY JAnet core (London): 8-11 Mbps Increased to typ 30 mbps on 19 Aug! NY peering reconfigured again UCL: 3-5 mbps -- steady! 11. China: START Regional Center -- Still down No performance testing since Aug '99 (was 18 kbps) New route from SFO via "Concert" -- terrestrial Old route via AT&T, satellite -- appeared highly congested APAN would be better Germany: DLR (Oberpfaffenhofen): Test host unresponsive since July '99 Route via Abilene (was UUnet) to NY, DFN Eumetsat Performance testing still not running -- gave up! Route via KPNQwest to Darmstadt Israel: Last tested Nov-Dec '00: Performance 0.2 - 1.7 mbps (was 1.7 mbps steady) Route via Abilene peering with ILAN in Chicago Datasink stopped in Dec 00 -- POC gone -- will try to restart.
