Where you should be at....!!! • Used bank giro in any bank branch to pay the €25 admin fee...discounted fee by the 20th Jan. • Registered personal details online...received CAO application number...print & save • Some may have even entered level 8 and/or level 7 courses • €40 is the fee to register and apply after the 20th Jan and up to and including the 1st Feb

  3. Should have a good idea of what general course areas you are interested in applying for...maybe even what college you would like to attend... • Should have highlighted the courses in CAO Handbook that you are thinking of applying for....you should have checked all college prospectus for details of matriculation & course requirements

  4. Created a shortlist....and narrow down courses to your “top ten”!!! • Place ten courses in genuine ORDER OF PREFERENCE....do not base this on last years’ points but on what is your number one course that you want to be offered above all others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • THIS IS THE ONE THAT YOU WILL BE OFFERED IF YOU SATISFY MATRICULATION AND POINTS

  5. Remember you can change your mind later and change the order of your courses and remove or add courses to a maximum of ten level 8 and ten level 7.. • N.B. N.B. There is one exception...YOU MUST HAVE RESTRICTED COURSES ON YOUR LIST OF TEN BY THE 1ST FEB....YOU CAN NOT ADD THESE AFTER THIS DATE

THE FOLLOWING ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY: • Read the CAO Handbook... • Pay the appropriate fee through any bank branch • Select and order the courses that you are applying for... • Register and apply online by appropriate dates..can use internet facilities in the school (with permission) if none at home...

  7. REMEMBER TO CONTINUALLY SAVE AS YOU ARE ENTERING YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS AND COURSE SELECTION ONLINE....PRINT A COPY • PUT YOUR CAO NUMBER IN A SAFE PLACE • REMEMBER TO KEEP SAFELY ANY PASSWORD THAT YOU HAVE USED

Advice is for all to have registered personal details by Mon 20th Jan. • Advice is for all to have selected and entered courses online by Wed/Thurs 29th/30th Jan...By Sat. 1st Feb, online facilities will be jammed and you could be hours trying to get online • THE MESSAGE IS APPLY AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE

DARE and HEAR Applicants • Have to apply/indicate intention to apply for, at the time of your CAO Application i.e. By the 1st Feb • Fill in forms before 1st March • Supplementary documentation to be sent by the 1st April.... • All should have DARE/HEAR Handbook (copy in GUIDANCE RESOURCES ON WEBSITE)...

  10. HEAR Scheme is open to all schools in Rep. of Ireland ...However, we are classified as a DEIS School... • IT IS WELL WORTH APPLYING FOR IF YOU THINK THAT YOU FIT THE REQUIREMENTS

  11. SUSI GRANT • You are given the opportunity to indicate on your CAO form that you are applying for a third level grant but you have to actually apply for the grant through www.susi.ie
