Ink Insertion. General. Ink is first inserted after the TJ8300 has been fully assembled and all the electrical and mechanical components have been tested (for example: motor movement checking, bridge heating, etc).

  1. Ink Insertion

  2. General • Ink is first inserted after the TJ8300 has been fully assembled and all the electrical and mechanical components have been tested (for example: motor movement checking,bridge heating, etc). • The insertion is performed at the customer site, after flushing the solvent (highly recommended). • By default, the TJ8300 is flushed with solvent. Confidential

  3. Gentle Flushing of the Ink System • Fill all of the six 5-liter containers with solvent. • From the RtRun application, select Tools > Color box > Prime > I/O; the Color Box I/O dialog box appears. • Select sensors of all colors. Confidential

Gentle Flushing of the Ink System (Cont.) • Open the ink bar valves to allow the solvent to flow into the waste bath. • Wait until you see a clear solvent flow and the hose becomes more transparent. • Close the ink bar valves. • From the RtRun application, select Tools > Color box > Prime > I/O; the Color Box I/O dialog box appears. • Select B valves of all colors. Air equalizer tube Gentle Flushing of the Ink System (Cont.) • Press PA of all colors for 1-2 minutes until all manifolds are flushed and verify that the solvent is coming out of the heads. • Repeat the above step a few times. • From the main tank drain theAir equalizer tube (from ink bars)from solvent. Inserting the Ink • Open all ink bars to drain all solvent leftovers. • Fill all of the six 5-liter containers with ink. • From the RtRun application, select Tools > Color box > Prime > I/O; the Color Box I/O dialog box appears. • Select sensors of all colors. • Wait until the A-tank is filled with ink and verify by checking the ink level. Inserting the Ink (Cont.) • Open the ink bar valves to allow the solvent and ink to flow into the waste bath. • Wait until you see pure ink flowing out. • Close the ink bar valves. • From the RtRun application, select Tools > Color box > Prime > I/O; the Color Box I/O dialog box appears. • Select B valves of all colors. Lower Drainage Tubes Inserting the Ink (Cont.) • Open the lower draining pipes of the manifolds to allow the ink to flow in and fill them. • Drain ink from the lower drainage tube until ink flows without any air bubbles. • Perform the LPAP procedure, several times, until there is a clean flow of ink without any air bubbles.   9. Preparing a New Inkjet Head • Before mounting a new inkjet head on the system: • Check the IJ head on the cleaning station, electrically and mechanically. • Verify that all nozzles are open. • Verify that all nozzles are shooting straight (at least 1" from the orifice plate). Confidential
