Nike Manufacturing • Over 700 shops and offices located in 45 different countries • Factories are located primarily in Asia • Had many issues with child labor laws • 2008 – an Australian news station sent an undercover camera crew to a major factory and found instances of squalid living conditions and forced labor. • Nike stated soon after that they will fix these issues

  7. Consumer Use • Athletic Shoes • Nike has may shoe lines such as Air Max and Air Jordan • Athletic Clothes • Nike makes athletic clothes from ball shorts to Pro Combat jerseys, which is the jersey for college football teams. • Sports Equipment • Nike makes equipment for every sport.

  8. Final Disposition • Nike is considered as a growing textile company. • Textile can lead to pollution. • But, Nike is ranked among the top 3 of most climate-friendly industries.

Final Disposition • Nike’s products don’t usually last long due to: • Nike makes new products very often and due to rapid trends changing customers feel like they must get the newer, latest model even though there current model is well. • Some products, sneakers in particularly, usually do not last long due to overwear or playing and consumers have to buy new ones.
