  3. Barriers to a Go On Culture • Lack of training • Lack of user-friendly data • Lack of student and parent knowledge • Lack of user friendly resources • Lack of focus on or promotion of options (2-4-year degrees, professional technical certificates, training apprenticeships, military, etc.)

Expected Outcomes for Participating Schools • A school-wide plan built on proven or best practices that insures every student is ready to Go On. • Use of data to evaluate and improve student readiness for post high school education. IDAHO GO ON SCHOOLS PURPOSE: Resource and equip schools and the community to effectively support, counsel, guide and/or mentor all students so they can Go On to education and/or training beyond high school.

Barriers to a Go On culture Lack of training Lack of user-friendly data Lack of student and parent knowledge Lack of user friendly resources Lack of focus on or promotion of options(2-year degrees, 4-year degrees, certificates of training apprenticeships, etc.) Qualifications and Funding • Open to all Idaho accredited middle, intermediate and/or high schools (grades 6-12) • This is a one-year renewable grant based on demonstrated improvement, as identified by the plans school submit. • Awards are between $10,000 and $40,000.

This is integrated and embedded into school practices, policies and culture.

These plans are updated annually and facilitated by planning software such as CIS.

(#1 on application) • Identify the indicators you will track include baseline numbers. (#2) • Build a plan based on the four Go On Building Blocks with a supporting budget. (#3-#5)

Barriers to a Go On culture Lack of training Lack of user-friendly data Lack of student and parent knowledge Lack of user friendly resources Lack of focus on or promotion of options(2-year degrees, 4-year degrees, certificates of training apprenticeships, etc.) • Next Steps for becoming • a Go On School • Submit the completed application (including the Go On Pledge signed by all team members) to the Albertson Foundation by April 6, 2012. • If approved, be ready to sign the grant paperwork and schedule the team to participate in the Summer Go On Institute.
