Annual State of the Catholic School Report • Enrollment over the past 3 years: • 2013-2014 124 Students (this year’s number is greatly effected by last year’s double grad class) • 2012-2013 159 Students • 2011-2012 143 Students • In addition to the above numbers we also have 60 students each year in our Pre-K program • Over the past three years, we have maintained an 70% student retention rate. Annual State of the Catholic School Report SASB Marketing Strategies: • Open Houses • Updated website/Facebook • Ads in local newspapers • Ads in all area Churches-Catholic and non-Catholic • Word of Mouth-It works! • Recruitment sessions at schools such as Cold Spring, local daycares and other elementary schools which do not have all K-8 • Development conference attendance • Updated marketing materials • Lawn signs placed locally ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2013__

Annual State of the Catholic School Report Additional Tools for Learning that SASB Include: • Special Programming • Special Ed assistance from city of New Haven-tutors, speech/language, etc, plus a Title I lab • Interns from Quinnipiac • Advanced Math teacher Grades 6-8 • Certified K-8 Spanish teacher and Gym teacher • Mobile technology carts for each floor • Expanded music program to include a choir group, more keyboards and recorders ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2013_

Annual State of the Catholic School Report Tuition Fees: • Average K – 8 Per Pupil Tuition last three years • 2010-2011 $4,050. • 2011-2012 $4,050. • 2012-2013 $4,050. • Current average K – 8 Per Pupil Cost Tuition = $4,050. No increase this year! • Total cost to educate a child for SASB =~$5,660. ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2013__

Annual State of the Catholic School Report Initiatives to Increase Income: • Home School fundraisers • Advertisements • Apply for grants • Solicit businesses known for contributing to such endeavors • Alumni Contributions • Solicit major donors from both alumni and community ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2013__

  11. Annual State of the Catholic School Report Initiatives to Decrease Spending: • Budget Freezes • Gifts and donations • Prudent spending • Going “Green”- i.e. Utilize SchoolReach program and use less paper for communication, less waste ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2013__

Annual State of the Catholic School Report Tuition Costs per Student: • Per Pupil Cost in Public School in New Haven is approximately $10,000-$12,000 • Magnet School average cost per student is approximately $12,845 • Average cost of educating a child in CT is $14,531 • Educating children in Catholic Schools saves the state of CT $230,723,218 • SASB will continue to provide academic excellence, with a faith based approach, for children in New Haven and the surrounding area ASCSR_NOVEMBER_2013__
