  3. The Bare Minimum Quiz • Respond to each question as completely as you can. • You may not use your text for this quiz. • If you run out of room—or think you may run out of room on the handout—put your responses on a separate sheet of paper.

Eva’s Burden • Using the two textual passages, respond to the following question: • According to the text, why does Eva kill her son, Plum? • Use your knowledge of imagery to unpack the text and decipher Morrison’s meaning of these two scenes. • What images stand out to you? • Why do they stand out? • What meaning can you glean from Morrison’s use of imagery?
