General Achievements • High production of deliverables in 2005 (> 2300) i.e. nine deliverables each working day (5 d/w, 52 w/y) • Three SOS interop workshops on open standards, open source and interoperability • Creation of an IPR policy review ad hoc group(see extra contribution) • Industry Specification Groups • STFs spent 4 M€ + in 200510% more than in 2004 • @LIS project established closer links to Latin America • Apointment of account managersas caretakers for external relations • Ex-officio case with EC DG COMPETITION closed
ETSI Secretariat Matters • Renewal of ISO 9001 2000 certification in 03/2006ongoing since 03/1994! • General satisfaction with the achievementsrelated to the ES Business Plan • ETSI’s Competence Centres are running well –and their services are appreciated • Quality of deliverables increased –and lead times kept within the limits • ETSI’s service provisioning develops well:PlugtestsTM, forapolis • Several ETSI roadshows organizedfor membership care & recruitment • Meetings at ETSI’s HQs remain at high level • Budget expectation for 2006 looks good • ES staff (03/2006): 108 employees19 part time ≥ 14 full time
ETSI Strategy 2006 Major changes compared with Strategy 2005: • New ETSI vision included • Issues related to Open Standards & IPR included • New regulatory issues and EC initiatives included • Aligned with HLRG recommendations • ETSI role as Service Provider included
ETSI’s Vision ETSI is the preferred organisation for the ICT industry and other stakeholders, to develop standards and specifications for the global market, and to support regional initiatives as appropriate.
