What • Staff and others have been seen to ignore barriers and warning notices associated with building works when moving around site compromising their personal safety. 3. Learning Barriers and safety notices are placed for a good reason - to protect you from risk of injury. Ignoring them increases the risk to your personal safety. Observe all barriers, safety notices and instructions at all times. • 2. Why • Staff and others have become accustomed to getting to a location by their “usual route” and see the barrier as a hurdle to overcome. • It is not always recognised that barriers are there for YOUR safety and not a deliberate inconvenience.
