[Hadith Muslim] • PRESENTATION OUTLINE: • How the religion of Islaam is sincerity and sincere advice • To whom we show sincerity to • How we go about achieving it Sister Fatima & Sister Qamar

  2. THE DEEN IS NASEEHAH(sincerity and sincere advice) Having Sincerity to

  3. subhaanahu wa ta’ala Having Sincerity to Allah • We need knowledge of Allah • Knowledge comes before faith "Say: 'Are those who know equal to those who know not?' It is only men of understanding who will remember (i.e. get a lesson from Allahs Signs and Verses)." [Surah Az-Zumar, 39:9] • The one who is not sincere to Allah knows all about worldly affairs and nothing about Islaam • The one who is sincere to Allah is always striving to seek knowledge of Islaam

  4. subhaanahu wa ta’ala Ashadu an La elaha illallah Having Sincerity to Allah "And they have not been commanded, except that they should sincerely and exclusively worship Allaah alone." [Surah Al-Bayyinah, 98:5]. The one who is sincere to Allah: • Accepts Islaam as your way of life • They love Allah more than anything • They love the things Allah loves and hate the things Allah hates • They obey Allahs commands and stays away from everything He has made haraam "And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they worship Me" [Surah Al-Waqia, 56:57].

  5. subhaanahu wa ta’ala Having Sincerity to Allah The one who is sincere to Allah turns to Allah, has absolutely full trust and reliance on Allah, and believes in His Qadr Related by Abu Abbas Abdullah the son of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: One day I was behind the Messenger of Allah (sa) and he said to me: “Young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice ]: Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allah; if you seek help, seek help of Allah. Know that if the Nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, it would benefit you only with something that Allah had already prescribed for you, and if the Nation were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”[Hadith at-Tirmidhi] "And put your trust in Allah, and Sufficient is Allah as a Wakil (as a disposer of affairs)." [Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:2]

  6. subhaanahu wa ta’ala Having Sincerity to Allah The one who is sincere to Allah: • Seeks assistance from Allah • Repents to Allah • Supplicates to Allah Narrated Ibn Abbas: Allahs Apostle said:"Seventy thousand people of my followers will enter Paradise without accounts, and they are those who do not practice Ar-Ruqya and do not see an evil omen in things, and put their trust in their Lord.” [Hadith Bukhaari] - Has a balance of hope, love and fear of Allah - Does not despair in the mercy of Allah

  7. subhaanahu wa ta’ala Having Sincerity to Allah In times of calamity the one who is sincere to Allah remains calm, patient and does not rebel against Allahs decree …… “… And whoever fears Allah, and keeps his duty to Him, He will provide him a way out (of every difficulty), and He will provide him from sources he could never imagine.” [Surah At-Talaq, 65:2-3] Allegiance is to Allah “Indeed we come from Allah and to Him is our return”.[Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:156].

  8. THE DEEN IS NASEEHAH (sincerity and sincere advice) Having Sincerity to Allahs BookThe Qur’aan “We hear and we Obey” [Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:285]

  9. The Qur’aan Having Sincerity to Allah’s Book • No other book will come after the Qur’aan • No other book can be compared to the Qur’aan • No one can create another book like the Qur’aan Say, “If all the humans and all the jinns banded together in order to produce a Quran like this, they could never produce anything like it, no matter how much assistance they lent one another.” [Surah Al-Isra, 17:88] • For the one who is sincere, the Qu’raan is a source of strength for them This is the Book; there is no doubt in it, is a guide, to those who fear Allah. [Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:2]

  10. The Qur’aan Having Sincerity to Allah’s Book The one who is sincere to the Qur’aan reaps its blessings…. “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well.” [Hadith At-Tirmidhi]

  11. The Qur’aan Having Sincerity to Allah’s Book The one who is in-sincere to the Qur’aan • Has the Qur’aan wrapped up kept on the highest shelf out of reach out of sight • Reads it with speed, and with no emotion or humbleness Don't hasten (in reading) with your tongue, with this (the Qur’aan)… [Surah Al-Qiyama, 75:16]. So, Don't the people Ponder in the Qur'an, Or do they have locks on their Hearts. [Surah Muhammad, 47:24]. • He does not ponder over its meaning • He innovates and reads Qur’aan for the dead • He misquotes the Qur’aan • He uses the Qur’aan to debate with others

  12. The Qur’aan The one who is sincereto the Qur’aan Having Sincerity to Allah’s Book • Treats in with respect • Is in the state of purity • Reads its with concentration • He takes what he has learnt and implements that into his actions • He does not question anything in the Qur’aan • He is lost without the Qur’aan • The Qur’aan is a source of guidance for him The Messenger of Allaah (sa) said, "I have left behind me two things, if you cling to them you will never go astray. They are the Book of Allaah and my Sunnah" [Hadith al-Haakim]. ‘Uthmaan, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet (sa) said: “The best of you are the ones who learn the Qur’an and teach it to others” [Hadith Al-Bukhari]

  13. Having Sincerity to Allah’s Book The Qur’aan From these two examples – who would you rather be?? The choice is yours… “We have without doubt sent down The Message, and We will assuredly Guard it (from corruption).”[Surah Al-Hijr, 15:9].

  14. THE DEEN IS NASEEHAH (sincerity and sincere advice) Having Sincerity to The MessengerSallallahu’alayhi wasallam

  15. WE NEED TO OBEY THE MESSENGER Allah says: “Whoever obeys the messenger has indeed obeyed Allah..” [Surah An-Nisa, 4:80]

  16. WE MUST PAY HEED TO HIS GUIDANCE It is narrated by Abu Musa (ra) that the Prophet (sa) said: "The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain-water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain- water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking, (making their animals drink from it) and to irrigate the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then the land was of no benefit). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah's Religion and gets benefit from the knowledge that Allah has revealed through me and learns and then teaches it to others. The (last example is that of a) person who does not care for it and does not take Allah's Guidance revealed through me (He is like the barren land.)" [Hadith Bukhari]

  17. LOVING HIM MEANS FOLLOWING HIS EXAMPLES “Ibn `Umar, May Allah be pleased with him, quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as saying: “Be distinguished from disbelievers, grow your beards, and trim your moustaches.” [Hadith Bukhari] The Prophet (sa) said, "There will emerge from the East some people who will recite the Qur'an but it will not exceed their throats and who will go out of islam as an arrow passes through the game, and they will never come back to it unless the arrow, comes back to the middle of the bow (by itself) (i.e., impossible)." The people asked, "What will their signs be?" He said, "Their sign will be the habit of shaving (of their beards)." [Hadith Bukhari] "And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it. And whatever he forbids, abstain from it. And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is severe in punishment."[Surah al-Hashr, 59: 7]

  18. LOVING HIM MEANS FOLLOWING HIS EXAMPLES “So they who have believed in him, honoured him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him — it is those who will be the successful.” [Surah Al-A’raaf, 7:157]. LEARNING ABOUT HIS CHARACTER AND EMULATING HIM Once a Bedouin came to the Masjid of the Prophet (sa) and urinated in the masjid. Some companions were so outraged that they wanted to stop him before he finished, but when the Prophet (sa) realized their feelings, he stopped from doing anything. And told them to not interrupt his urination. The prophet (sa) then asked for a tumbler of water and poured it over the area on which the Bedouin had urinated. [Hadith Bukhari]

  19. SPEAKING ABOUT HIS TRADITIONS ONLY WITH KNOWLEDGE The Messenger of Allah: saw: warned us: "Whoever knowingly lies upon me, then let him occupy his seat in the Fire (of Hell)." [Hadith Bukhari and Muslim] GIVING HIS MESSAGE ITS DUE RESPECT AND REGARD “It is not befitting for a believing man or a believing woman that when Allah and His messenger have decided an affair (for them) that they should (after that) have a say in their affair, and who so is rebellious to Allah and His messenger, he has gone astray in error manifest” [Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:36]

  20. THE DEEN IS NASEEHAH (sincerity and sincere advice) Having Sincerity to The Muslim Leaders OBEYING YOUR LEADERS IS OBEYING ALLAH ‘‘O you who believe! Obey Allaah, and obey the Messenger, and those who are in authority over you. So if you differ in anything, then refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allaah and the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.’’ [Surah An-Nisaa, 4:59]

  21. OBEYING YOUR LEADERS IS OBEYING ALLAH ‘‘O you who believe! Obey Allaah, and obey the Messenger, and those who are in authority over you. So if you differ in anything, then refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allaah and the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.’’ [Suratul-Nisaa‘ 4:59]

  22. OBEYING THEM IN ALL THAT IS GOOD Prophet said: “The person must obey in whatever he loves, and in whatever he hates, in ease and in hardship, in willingness and un-willingness; except if he is commanded to disobey Allaah. So if he is commanded to disobey Allaah, then he should not listen, not should he obey.” [Hadith Sahih Bukhari] DISOBEYING THEM ONLY WHEN IT CONTRADICTS THE TEACHINGS OF ALLAH The Companions said: “O Messenger of Allah, shall we fight these rulers?” He said: “No, as long as they pray.” [Hadith -Tirmidhi]

  23. THE DEEN IS NASEEHAH (sincerity and sincere advice) Having Sincerity to The General People “None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.” [Hadith Bukhari] In both Hadith Bukhari and Muslim explain in which the love and affection of Muslims to each other is likened to a single human body:If one limb or part of the body is in pain the entire body is inflicted with pain and fever…
