  3. Them – NOT YOU • Closure is: • A way to wrap up a lesson • It is a quick review to remind students what has been taught. • The activity is done by the students; not by the teacher.

  4. As a formative assessment • Closure will aid to determine: • If additional practice is needed • Whether or not concepts need to be re taught • Whether or not an instructor can move to the next part of the lesson.

  5. In a nutshell • Reviews key points • Gives students opportunities to draw conclusions from the lesson. • Describes when the students can use new information. • Previews future lessons. • Demonstrates higher level thinking skills. • Exhibits student learning • Enables transfer • Creates a smooth transition from one lesson to the next.
