  5. Soldiers, Sleds, and Sam p. 62-67 Genre: Historical Nonfiction Has anyone ever skied down a snow covered hill ? What do you need for good skiing, sledding conditions? & what could interfere with those conditions? What do you think the story will be about ? Keep this question in mind as you read…… What qualities does Sam have that help him resolve conflicts?

  6. Soldiers, Sleds, and SamTurn & Talk • Why does General Haldimand’s servant sprinkle ashes every day? • Sam faces a few conflicts in this story? Which one do you think is the most difficult ? Why ? (Turn & Share) • Who are the Redcoats? How did they get their name?
