Former Major General Michael Harrison says that he is a person who can be counted on, no matter what. He spent thirty-four years as a Soldier in the United States Army, entering the service in May 1980 and rising over the years to the rank of Major General. Michael Harrison says that it is his duty, and the duty of others of his generation, to ensure the next generation of Americans are well-prepared for their eventual leadership role in the country.

During that time he served in Afghanistan as a senior leader responsible for the equipping and training of the Afghan National Army. He also served as a US Army Brigade Commander during the 9/11 tragedy.
