Transfusion. • Past history: previous surgery, medical illness, organ failure. Allergy to anesthetic drugs. Spinal surgery, eye surgery • Family history: MH

  3. Pre – Operative Preparation • Examination • General Examination general condition, pulse, temp, bl pr., resp. rate, pallor, cyanosis & jaundice. weight • Local Examination Chest examination, cardiac examination, oro-pharyngial examination, neck mobility, teeth examination

  4. Pre – Operative Preparation • Diagnosis, Assessments • ASA • Mallampati class

  5. Pre – Operative Preparation • Elective case requested investigations, respiratory functions, echocardiography, dialysis session, change way of management for control of medical illness, change anti coagulant therapy. DVD prophylaxis Antibiotics • Emergency case • How urgent, OR (Stat / urgent / ASAP)

  6. Pre – Operative Preparation • Anesthesia clinic Clearance and fitness for anesthesia, discussion of modalities of regional anesthesia consent for anesthesia. Explain possible complications of anesthesia selected. Patient Assessment

  7. Intra operative management • Final Assessment, just before induction • Preparation of anesthetic tray, check ventilator, gas pressure & intubation equipment. • Time out • Induction (or regional anesthesia) • Intubation & mechanical ventilation

  8. Intra operative management • Monitoring Vital Data: pulse (continuous cardiac monitor) temp, bl. Pr., Oxygen saturation Carbon-dioxid level Urine output Fluid chart Estimated blood loss

  9. Intra operative management • Fluid replacement, maintenance • Medications as required • Reversal

  10. Post operative follow up • Recovery room
